Spring Student Recital 2008

The featured dancers are Afsana, the Sistrum Dance Intermediates (Alison G., Annakiya, Jessica A., Jessica S., Nila, Sylvia and Zahira) and Robin from the Sistrum Dance Beginners;  Amarna and the Daughters of the Nile Junior Troupe (Angel, Jo-anne, Kaylah, Leslie, Lizette, Rachel, Raine, and Regan); and Shireen and her Intermediates (Ramona, Tracey and Wendy).

This was an informal performance for the family and friends of the dancers. It gave dancers a supportive environment in which to obtain performance experience, in which to show what they had learned this year and in which to enjoy their dancing! There were many "firsts" that day... first performance ever, first belly dance performance, first solo... There was food and tea for the audience and performers to enjoy while they watched the dancing, making this a hafla. Hafla is Arabic for "party".
